Aspen, Colorado

Hey guys, hope everyone had a great weekend!

Next on My Bucket List is Aspen, Colorado. This is a beautiful place that meets the needs of almost any vacation goer. Although you aren't going to find any beaches near, there are plenty of activities to do and things to see. I want to start by seeing the Maroon Bells, which is the mountain range you see in the picture below. It is one of the most photographed mountain ranges in the country.

Activities include riding bike trails, taking gondola rides to the tops of mountains, hiking mountain trails, skiing, snowboarding and much more.

Aspen has over 100 restaurants and a lively night life to enjoy as well. You can go dancing, enjoy lively clubs and bars or go for something more relaxing like wine tasting, a coffee shop, a lounge or enjoying some billiards. The thing I love most is no matter where you go the scenery is always there. The days are vibrant and the nights have a tranquility to them that are unmatched.

Scotland Golf Vacation

This is one of my dream vacations. To go to the birthplace of golf and play on some of the most historical courses in golf history.

St. Andrews Links Courses are located on the east coast of Scotland off of the North Sea. The old course has been around since about 1400 AD. Yeah that's right, golf is almost 600 years old. In 1457 golf was becoming so popular King James II of Scotland banned golf because he felt it was too distracting to young men and kept them from archery practice.

St. Andrews Links is the largest golfing complex in Europe with six 18 hole courses that are all open to the public. These courses are all pristine in condition and the scenery is spectacular.

This is a timeless place that every golf enthusiast, including myself would love to pursue. I love golf because it is the game that cannot be beat. No matter how well  you play, there is always room for improvement. There aren't any teammates you can blame for poor performance either. It is all about you against the course. Although it can be very frustrating at times it always beats a day at work and is a great way to bond with friends and the outdoors.

This link will provide you with some great information to get started on planning the BEST golf vacation ever!!! It includes some great testimonials and educates you further on the history of the area as well as the game of golf.

Outer Banks, North Carolina

Hellooo,

Hope everyone is having a good week. I don't know about you but I could use a vacation right now. Unfortunately I have to use my imagination for a few more months before taking my next trip. This week I have chosen one of my all time favorite places to visit, Outer Banks, North Carolina. My family has been traveling here for over 25 years. We rent a beach house usually on the ocean and our main activity while we are down there is shore fishing. This is one of the few places you are able to drive your vehicle out onto the beach, with an ORV license of course, and fish from the shore. The best part is, you never know what you are going to hook into. We have caught a wide variety of fish going down there which include bluefish, whiting, puppy drum, striper, pompano, flounder, sharks, rays and more. Most are great eating and make for the freshest fish you will ever eat. If you are looking for a place to stay, Hatteras Realty or Sun Realty are two popular places to book your house.

Our favorite times to visit are during the spring or late summer/fall. This is when the fishing is best and the weather is great as well. I have vacationed there during the summer when the weather was hot and it was more of a relaxing beach vacation. I do have to say it was a very eerie experience swimming where we catch all these fish. Another thing I love about visiting here is the people, they are extremely polite and helpful no matter what questions or concerns you have. With that being said, there is so much to see and do while visiting the Outer Banks. You can visit Kitty Hawk where the Wright brothers took the first flight of an airplane. This makes for a popular place to fly kites. It is also home to one of the tallest lighthouses in the U.S. the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse that comes in at 210ft. Ferries can be taken to other islands where they offer a variety of cool shops to visit and great places to get some fresh seafood.

If you enjoy spending time with family or friends, the outdoors and fishing, this trip is designed just for you. Even for the people who don't fish in my family, they love to take walks on the beach looking for shells, look for dolphins or indulge in a book with the sound of the waves in the background. There is something here for everyone and if you decide to go in the spring or fall it is very affordable to rent million dollar beach houses.
